Math Software -- The Big Picture

• Blue's 123 Time Activities [for ages 3 to 6] from Humongous Entertainment, provides seven pre- and early math activities, from sorting and counting to beginning addition and subtraction. A steady supply of rewards makes this program a good choice for kids who need immediate gratification as well as those who are goal oriented.

• Reader Rabbit's Math 6-9 from The Learning Company, provides a variety of activities to strengthen young students' math skills. Best for kids who like pirates themes, and those who need arcade-like activities to keep them motivated.

• Clue Finders Math Ages 9-12 from The Learning Company, provides age-appropriate math drills and problem solving challenges as the user hunts for clues to a mystery. Best for for an average or above-average math student who enjoys arcade-style "twitch" games.

• Mathville VIP [for ages 11 and up] from Courseware Solutions, provides challenging math activities presented in real-life situations. Best for motivated students who seek a program that will drill and strengthen math skills learned in the classroom.
