Product Support

Mickey Mouse and friends offer a pleasant romp in this preschool software from Disney Interactive.

It's a beautiful day, and Mickey and Minnie are out for a drive in the country with their faithful pup, Pluto. Mickey realizes that they are short on fuel, so he pulls into a nearby gas station that is run by our pal Goofy, and conveniently situated adjacent to Daisy Duck's roadside diner. The gang's all here and eager to share in the fun by providing suitably themed activities, including a fill-up at the gas pump which lets kids practice their counting skills, a mischievous game of 'knock the can' involving color, shape, letter and number recognition, a visit to the body shop to explore and create magnificent driving machines, a turn behind the wheel where opposites encountered include left/right, up/down, loud/soft, start/stop and hot/cold, and more. Kids can even choose to print activities found on placemats in the diner and continue the fun away from the computer.

Educational Value
Mickey Mouse's Preschool offers simple preschool learning fundamentals in a non-threatening environment. In addition to the problem solving and short term memory skills used in every interaction, kids can learn letter recognition, letter matching, number recognition, counting, shapes, colors and color mixing, opposites, patterns, left/right, same/different and what does not belong as well as basic computer concepts and mouse use. They can additionally strengthen such developing abilities as creativity, music appreciation, following directions, listening and vocabulary.

Kid Appeal
This program contains the high quality cartoon graphics one expects from Disney Interactive. The theme is cute, and appeals to youngsters, especially boys. While not profuse in their praise, our testers' gave this program solid commendations.

Ease of Use / Install
Mickey Mouse's Preschool installs without a problem. Not all activities are intuitive, especially for preschoolers, nor are they well explained in the program. Caregivers will want to check out the included Program Manual, which explains the activities and offers a list of skills learned for each.

Best for... / Bottom-Line
Although it doesn't pack quite the same punch as its counterpart Mickey Mouse's Kindergarten, this program offers preschoolers entertaining interaction with the computer.
