Examples of Small Photos

The photos on this page are representative of the photo quality we achieved using the three cameras in this month's review. At first glance, they appear roughly similar. But appearances can be deceiving.

Barbie

Nick-Click

Jam C@m 2.0

The first two photos, taken by the Barbie and the Nick-Click cameras, are shown at full size. The third photo, from the Jam C@m, has been reduced in size for comparison purposes. The photo's actual size, is almost 4 times larger, with the same resolution!

What does this mean? Click here to see what happens if we try to enlarge the first two photos to the same size as the Jam C@m's.

The Jam C@m has a resolution of 640x480, or over 300,000 pixels. The other two shoot at only 160x120, or 19,200 pixels -- just 1/16 the number of pixels. The result is that the Jam C@m shoots larger pictures much more clearly.
