Is homework wrecking our kids?by Andrew MaiselEver have a fight with your kids about doing their homework? Then don't let them read this... A recent article in Salon answered the question affirmatively, citing among other sources, a meta-review of 180 studies, written by Duke University Professor Harris Cooper that concluded: "There is no evidence that any amount of homework improves the academic performance of elementary students." Hmmm. So why are young students assigned increasing level of homework, if the data says it doesn't help? back to top of page
